RITZ CRACKER TOFFEE
This is a delicious toffee recipe that is perfect for the holiday season. Bonnie says, “it’s a Christmas go-to that disappears way too fast”. A sweet, easy-to-make treat, with simple ingredients, this toffee can be addictive!
Ritz Cracker Toffee
SERVINGS: 1 SHEET OF TOFFEE
PREP TIME: 190 MINUTES
COOKING TIME: 15 MINUTES
TOTAL TIME: 205 MINUTES
INGREDIENTS
2 sleeves of Ritz crackers
1 cup of salted butter (2 sticks)
1 cup of brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 bag of milk chocolate chips (11 oz.)
Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
Prepare the Crackers
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cookie sheet (about “12x18”) and line with parchment paper or tin foil. Lightly spray with cooking spray. Place crackers in a single layer on cookie sheet.
Make the Toffee
In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, combine butter, brown sugar, and salt. Heat until boiling, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, let boil for 6-7 minutes. It will be thicker and much darker in color. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.Finish the Toffee
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until bubbly, thickened, and darker in color. Immediately after baking sprinkle the bag of chocolate chips over the toffee and let sit for 5 minutes. Spread chocolate evenly over crackers and decorate with Christmas sprinkles.
Serve
Let cool for 2 hours so it can come together and harden up. Break into pieces and serve!
